  • - The Pureflex System

    In addition to services for the installed compute and storage nodes, Lab Services can perform PureFlex Intro, PureFlex Virtualized, PureFlex Enterprise, PureFlex Cloud, and PureFlex Extra-Chassis add-on services to help customize the implementation of a PureFlex System to clients’ specific requirements.   • - IBM Systems Director implementation services (System x, Systems Software, Power Systems)

    Lab Services skilled resources will provide limited to full implementation of the client's systems management plan depending on requirements, client skills and the potential for an IBM Systems Director skills transfer.

  • - Cloud IT optimization assessment (Cross-platform consulting services)

    Helps a client evaluate the feasibility and estimate the expected cost and benefits of implementing IBM advanced private cloud technologies. Rapid IT value creation based on client estimated or validated technical and financial data utilizing facilitated workshop techniques. Cross-platform recommendations for tactical and strategic needs are supported by financial business cases.

  • - Cloud design workshop (System x, Power Systems, IBM SmartCloud Entry)

    IBM will help a client evaluate and design a private cloud on IBM System x- or Power Systems-based hardware. The workshop could also include design aspects on IBM SmartCloud Entry-based configurations. The workshop helps the client design their cloud from end to end, including server and storage configuration, standardized images, and designing how IT will provide cloud services to lines of business.

  • - Storage efficiency analysis, workshop, and study (Storage)

    These engagements of varied length and depth of scope assess clients’ current storage infrastructure addressing areas such as power and energy usage, storage tiering, virtualization, storage reclamation, data de-duplication, and more. The workshop and study focus on transactional or medical imaging/fixed content storage infrastructure using “green” principles and up to six best practices areas with supporting financial business cases. The objective of the engagements is to help develop a strategy or roadmap to control storage growth, utilize and manage storage more efficiently, improve service levels, and reduce costs.

  • - PowerVM provisioning toolkit (Power Systems)

    This service supports the rapid deployment and configuration of the Virtual IO Servers and client partitions on any POWER6 or POWER7 processor-based server through the seamless integration of existing interfaces of PowerVM and IBM's award winning virtualization technologies in a client's enterprise.

  • - zEnterprise ensemble enablement jumpstart assistance for zBX blades (Mainframe)

    Lab Services will provide the required z/OS, zBX blade, and zManager skills to accelerate the enablement of a zBX Ensemble and provisioning of POWER7 zBX and x86 blades across a functional application test environment. This base offering can be customized to the unique customer needs.

  • - Data center energy management solution (AEM) (Cross Platform)

    Provides assistance with installation, configuration, and exploitation of the capabilities and features of IBM Systems Director Active Energy Manager (AEM) for supported servers and storage systems. The installation is on a client provided hardware and operating system supported by IBM Systems Director.
