The following includes links to other marks available to qualified Business Partners, naming guidelines, and other resources.

NEWS! The Business Partner mark design is changing in 2017 as part of the Enhanced PartnerWorld implementation. The mark will reflect the new membership levels (Platinum, Gold, Silver, Registered) as well as new important achievements such as Expert and Specialist competencies. Business Partners should plan to update their membership level marks on websites and on collateral as soon as possible in 2017.

With the transition to competencies, several marks are being sunset effective December 31, 2016. Business Partners should plan on removing the obsolete marks from websites by February 28, 2017 and from print/hardcopy collateral by March 31, 2017.

Business Partner marks - Awards

Several awards, for example Beacon (PartnerWorld Leadership Conference) and other IBM Business Partner conference awards, recognize Business Partner excellence, innovation and success. Business Partners that receive awards are able to generate an award mark via the Business Partner Mark Generator to promote their award recipient status. Other awards include: IBM Analytics Award and IBM Watson Award (IBM World of Watson Conference), and IBM Cloud Award, IBM Commerce Award, IBM MobileFirst Award, IBM Security Award, and IBM Systems Middleware (IBM InterConnect Conference).

NEWS! The 2016 award marks will transition to the new membership level marks for each award winner, effective January 1, 2017. Award winners should download the new design mark from the Business Partner Mark Generator and update the award mark on websites and collateral.

NEW! Business Partner marks - Competencies

PartnerWorld has identified high-value capabilities that are essential for driving clients into the digital era. By mastering these competencies, Business Partners can offer clients unmatched value that generates business growth and revenue. Competency categories include: Analytics Platform, Analytics Solutions, Cloud, Commerce, Security, Services, Social, Systems, Watson, and Watson IoT. Each competency will have a Business Partner mark to use to promote your capabilties.

Business Partner marks - Specialty

Gain recognition for expertise in IBM systems technology and solution areas such as Power Systems, System Storage, PureFlex, and System x, to drive greater revenue and improve customer value and visibility. Leverage the education and enablement roadmaps to help you qualify for a specialty which includes a specialty Business Partner mark to promote your skills.

NEWS! Specialty marks will transition to appropriate competencies marks in Business Partner profiles effective January 1, 2017.

Business Partner marks - Authorizations

IBM authorizations provide multiple benefits to qualifying Business Partners, including a Business Partner mark. IBM Distributors also have access to a Business Partner mark, as well as IBM Global Training Providers.

Business Partner marks - Software Practice Accreditations

Gain recognition for successfully delivering IBM software solutions. Business Partners who successfully meet both certification and implementation criteria for a particular IBM software solution area may apply for IBM Software Practice Accreditation. Accreditation provides a way for Business Partners to quantify and publicize their skills to clients and to IBMers.

NEWS! Software Practice Accreditations marks will transition to appropriate competency marks in Business Partner profiles ereffective January 1, 2017.

Business Partner marks - Managed Services Provider initiative

Business Partners who have a Service Provider business model, e.g., infrastructure, platform, software, may qualify for the Managed Services Provider initiative. The initiative has a corresponding Business Partner mark.

NEWS! Managed Service Provider marks will be sunset effective December 31, 2016.

Business Partner mark - Ingredient brand mark

NEWS! The IBM Ingredient brand - enhanced mark will be sunset effective December 31, 2016.

Business Partner marks - Business Partner Innovation Center

IBM Business Partner Innovation Centers (BPICs) are ideal venues for Premier Business Partners to showcase their industry-leading solutions and new technologies. These centers are owned and operated by IBM Premier Business Partners who provide local delivery of complex solutions to clients. A Business Partner mark is available to showcase the center.

Business Partner Mark Generator tool

An easy to use the Business Partner Mark Generator on-line tool that enables you to customize the Business Partner mark to show some or all of your specific achievements. Only Business Partners who are eligible for Business Partner marks will have access to the tool.


Guidelines for marketing collaboration (collateral, events, presentations, IBM material, etc.) between Business Partners and IBM.
