Q1. Are all IBM Business Partners eligible to use the IBM Business Partner mark?

Q2. What is a specialty? Can they be represented with the Business Partner mark?
A. A specialty provides recognition for expertise in IBM technology and solution areas to drive greater revenue and improve customer value and visibility. Example specialities include Cloud computing, Power Systems, PureFlex, etc. You may choose to use the base mark on its own, or include some or all of the specialties you have earned. The Business Partner mark generator enables you to tailor the mark for each use, according to the specialties recorded in your profile in the PartnerWorld Profile System (PPS).

Q3. What is an authorization? Can they be represented with the Business Partner mark?
A. Authorized IBM Business Partners demonstrate advanced skills through certifications and approved solutions. Authorization will help ensure that clients get the right solution, reduce the risk inherent in any deployment, and increase client return on investment. Example authorizations include Software Value Plus, Systems and Storage, Distributors, PureSystems, and Training. You may choose to use the base mark on its own, or include some or all of the authorizations you have earned. Q5. What is a 'Ready For' designation? Can it be represented with the Business Partner mark?
A. Ready For are technical validations which test your products against pre-established criteria to demonstrate compatibility with certain IBM offerings. You will receive development and integration assistance during the validation process. Earn the right to display specially designed IBM marks in the packaging and marketing materials of your qualified offerings. These licensed marks can help you identify and promote your software, hardware, services, or technology solution as a qualified offering that has met compatibility and integration specifications established by IBM. The Business Partner mark generator enables you to tailor the mark for each use, according to the Ready For achievements recorded in your profile in the PartnerWorld Profile System (PPS). Ready For marks are not combined with specialties or authorizations.

Q9. May I use the IBM 8-bar logo in my communications?
A. The IBM 8-bar logo is IBM's identity mark and is reserved primarily for use by IBM. The Business Partner marks, which contain the 8-bar logo itself, were created for use by Business Partners to identify their relationship with IBM. Their primary role is to authenticate and endorse our Business Partners in the minds of their customers. They validate our channel relationships, and represent access and a connection to IBM. Business Partners should use the Business Partner marks in their communications.
