Solution name :
SRO Data Replication (SDR) for Maximo v9.3
Solution description :
SRO Data Replication provides a trusted synchronisation capability enabling you to maintain data across all your locations effectively. Whether at your HQ, regional office or remote sites, you can obtain the same quality of service that a connected site receives; irrespective of high latency or low bandwidth restrictions.

- Bi-directional, ‘update anywhere’ replication
- Flexible, scalable replication topologies
- Collision Avoidance Method (patented)
- Dynamic Data Slicing - remote sites only receive pertinent data
- Heterogeneous E.g.: from Oracle to MS SQL Server
- Automatic data compression - ensures minimal bandwidth usage
- Secure with data encryption
- Advanced scheduling
- Internet standard
- Robust session recovery - 'make-on-break'
- File / Attachment replication
Typically, businesses that rely on web-based systems to run their business, struggle when key people at remote sites cannot access critical data and staff are frequently faced with working with out-of-date information.
The SDR solves this problem by enabling replication over low bandwidth , high-latency, poor and intermittent connections, offering a dependable and robust replication solution.
For international organizations, such as oil and gas, utilities and marine, keeping remote sites up to date with essential data can be a significant problem. Geographic remoteness and poor communication links can have a severe impact on the accuracy of the data these sites have to work with.
The SDR provides an alternative and better replication method for remote database systems.
Tried-and-tested with Maximo, the SDR enables organisations to take advantage of the complete features and functionality of Maximo, with no loss of speed or efficiency.
Existing replication solutions utilise either message-based or synchronous replication. Both these methods have inherent weaknesses. Message-based replication is less efficient as it often relies on another transport like e-mail and ftp that does not always provide delivery time guarantees. It is also less robust, e.g. sites cannot correctly determine and adjust for clock drifts. While synchronous replication is weaker because it usually requires that all affected sites be available at the same time.
A replication product is incomplete it if relies on other transports in order to operate. This is where SDR is different. As a session-based solution it supports true asynchronous update-everywhere replication. Sites connect in pairs and each replication session bi-directionally transfers new updates to and from both sites.
